Project Context
JGC required the rapid delivery of a high-specification Super Duplex stainless steel piping system for the South Ghawar Gas Separation Plant, executed under strict quality and regulatory controls.
The scope demanded full procedure qualification, alongside compliance with Saudi Aramco requirements for welding inspection, quality control, and non-destructive testing. Field installation, tie-ins, testing, and pre-commissioning activities had to be executed within a tightly controlled six-month schedule.
The project’s location in the Empty Quarter introduced additional complexity. Fast mobilisation, disciplined execution, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards were essential within a remote and logistically demanding operating environment.

Actron Global was appointed by JGC to deliver the complete Super Duplex stainless steel piping package.
Our specialist execution team, comprising approximately 61 technical professionals — including Saudi Aramco-approved quality personnel, welding inspectors, and NDT coordinators — was mobilised within a short turnaround period to meet programme requirements.
Delivery covered prefabrication, installation, and erection of piping and supports, execution of tie-ins, dismantling works, valve installation, and structured testing activities. Procedure qualification were maintained throughout, supported by disciplined inspection, quality assurance, and fully traceable documentation processes.
Energy-conscious site practices were applied during installation and testing phases to optimise temporary power usage and support efficient constructability in the remote environment.
The Outcome
The critical Super Duplex stainless steel piping line was installed and commissioned successfully and on schedule, meeting all technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.
